How this site earns

Some links on this site are affiliate links: if you buy eclipse glasses or book a stay through one, the seller pays this site a commission. It costs you nothing extra — the price is the same either way.

Specifically: equipment links may go to Amazon (as an Amazon Associate, this site earns from qualifying purchases), and accommodation links may go to Booking.com through the CJ Affiliate network. Every such link is marked as affiliate where it appears, opens the ordinary public site, and — if you have declined cookies on our banner — carries no tracking identifier at all: the link still works, we just earn nothing.

What commission never buys

The entire point of this site is that the comparison is neutral. So, concretely:

Durations are computed from NASA data, cloud odds are quoted from published climatology, and effort scores follow a documented formula (methodology). None of these can be moved by a commission.
No location is listed, ranked or praised because it pays. Locations under advise-against travel advisories carry no booking links at all.
Affiliate slots sit apart from the comparison data, labelled, at the point where someone has already made a decision — never inside it.
